Dr. Max Grossman, Co-Founder of 7pod, has worked for over a decade in developing compiler, runtime, and programming model technologies for solving computational bottlenecks, primarily in scientific and big data domains. He earned his Ph.D., M.S, and B.S. in Computer Science from Rice University.
Dr. Zoran Budimlić, Co-Founder, is a Senior Research Scientist at Rice University. He led several research projects on improving high-level programming models, programming languages, compilers and runtime systems for high-performance and parallel computing. Zoran earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Rice University.
Dr. Vivek Sarkar, Co-Founder, is a Professor of Computer Science at Georgia Tech. He conducts research in multiple aspects of parallel software including programming languages, program analysis, compiler optimizations and runtimes for parallel and high performance computer systems. He currently leads the Habanero Extreme Scale Software Research group at Georgia Tech, and serves as Associate Director of the NSF Expeditions Center for Domain-Specific Computing. Previously, Dr. Sarkar was a Senior Manager and Team Lead in both research and production teams at IBM. Vivek earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University, his M.S. from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his B.Tech. from IIT-Kanpur.
Dr. Jun Shirako, Research Scientist, leads work on research and engineering in polyhedral compilation analysis at 7pod. Jun Shirako received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Waseda University, Tokyo, in 2007. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Department of Computer Science, Rice University from 2008 to 2009. He currently holds a Research Scientist position in the Computer Science Department at Rice University. His research interests include parallelizing compilers, parallel programming languages, compiler optimizations, and runtime libraries for synchronizations and communications.
Nav Ravindranath, Staff Engineer, leads work in open source analytics and optimization infrastructure at 7pod. Nav received a B.S. in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering from Rice University in 2015. He is currently working towards an M.S. in in Applied Mathematics at Columbia University.
